Artist Open Call by Sussex Contemporary and National Trust Standen
UK-based & UK-connected makers are invited to create contemporary responses to the Arts & Crafts movement. Submissions are welcome across a wide range of media, from textiles & ceramics to furniture, illustration, metalwork & more. Closing 31 May 26

A panel of expert judges, chaired by Ruth Howard, Property Experiences Curator, will select works to be displayed throughout Standen House. This new partnership offers makers the chance to take part in a curated exhibition, have pieces placed within Standen’s historic interiors, and offer their work for sale during the three‑month summer show. Selected creatives may also be invited to join events, talks or workshops throughout the season. A Dangerous Novelty? The Age of Electricity
This new exhibition tells the story of Standen as one of the first country houses to be designed with electricity. See the exhibition in the Servants Hall between Weds 14 Jan & Sun 21 Jun. 11am – 3pm. (4pm in summer).
