Standen Workshops: William Morris fruit embossed copper ornaments

Inspired by nature and vibrant colour, Christine Leech is a designer, maker and founder of embroidery kit company Sewyeah. She has written books on a wide range of crafts, including embroidery, papercraft and printing, and creates accessible, enjoyable workshops for makers of all experience levels. Enjoy this relaxing and creative workshop inspired by the iconic Fruit wallpaper and fabric designs of William Morris. Suitable for beginners and experienced crafters alike, this session explores the beautiful flora and fauna motifs within Morris's work while introducing the mindful art of metal embossing. Participants will learn the basics of embossing tools, techniques and copper preparation before creating their own pomegranate, lemon, peach and blossom ornaments. Finished pieces will be threaded onto velvet ribbons to create a collection of decorative hanging ornaments to take home. All materials are provided and no previous experience is required. This workshop is for adults only.
