Two thousand years after the departure of the Romans from Dolaucothi, NT Dolaucothi and Legio VIII Augusta MGV Roman Living History Society bring the distant past to boisterous life with this fascinating insight into Roman lives and times.
A host of exciting activities and demonstrations will transport you back to the Pumsaint of 2 millennia ago.
Explore the Roman settlement, sniff out what's cooking on the camp fire and examine some authentic armour up close. Catch a talk about life at the fort in the Roman era, have your name written in Roman script, visit a coin mint and a cobbler, watch a demonstration of ancient surveying methods, learn about the medical knowledge and surgical practices of the day and, of course, see plenty of military action!
Important note: Dolaucothi Gold Mine will be closed during this weekend, with all activities being centred on the community field at Pumsaint.

Community Field alongside the A482 in Pumsaint village, opposite the Dolaucothi Arms pub.
- What to bring and wear
Sensible footwear is recommended, particularly if the field might be wet. Please dress appropriately for the weather, rain or shine.

Car parking available with easy access to the field. Some level walking is involved to reach the Roman encampment. Generally suitable for wheelchairs / buggies.
