Summer of Play at Erddig
Channel your inner sporting champion and take part in a whole host of fun outdoor activities to get you hopping, running and jumping this summer
- Booking not needed
- Free event (admission applies)
On your marks, get set and join us at Erddig this summer to make memories playing, exploring, and getting active together. From July 20 until 1 September, have a go at the sport-inspired self-led activities the whole family can enjoy throughout the garden, from hurdles to sprinting. See if you can hula hoop - start with the smallest hoop and work your way up to find out which is the biggest one you can twirl. Take on the bootcamp assault course in Wolf's Den natural play area which will see you doing star jumps and hopping through tyres. How many times can you complete the course before tiring? Then take on your friends and family in a game of tag rugby. Put on the tag rugby belts and try to remove the tags from the back of each other's belts - who will be the last one standing? On 24 July and 7 August, storyteller Jake Evans will also be visiting to ignite young imaginations with his captivating tales at intervals between 12pm and 3pm. Every Monday from 11am-3pm there will be the chance to try out lino printing in the education room - the lino stamp patterns are inspired by the symbols and shapes you see on the State Bed in the house, allowing you to take a piece of Erddig home with you this summer. On Fridays channel your inner Picasso with Fine Art Fridays, between 11am and 3pm. Painters of all ages and abilities can take inspiration from the garden to create a work of art to take home. Erddig's Summer of Play is sponsored by Starling Bank.
