A mid18th century Grade II cottage, located north of the road just below Plas yn Rhiw Woods. Once home to poet R S Thomas and artist M E (Elsi) Eldridge.

Open Doors
On Saturday 26 September and Sunday 27 September, enjoy free entry to Plas yn Rhiw and Sarn y Plas. It's all part of Open Doors, funded and organised by Cadw, which invites heritage organisations, private owners, local authorities and others to open their doors or offer activities to the public free of charge during September.
Open Doors guided walk
On the 26 and 27 September there will be a guided walk, leaving from Sarn y Plas and finishing at Plas yn Rhiw tearoom, passing by Fron Deg, a traditional Tyddyn or crofters cottage dating back to the 1870s.

Once the home of poet R S Thomas and artist M E (Elsi) Eldridge, the mid 18th century stone cottage offers spectacular views across Cardigan Bay. Located within walking distance from Plas yn Rhiw, the surrounding landscape and nature of Llŷn deeply inspired the creative works of both R S and Elsi during their lifetime.
