Summer of Play Beach at Tredegar House

This summer holidays, enjoy an unforgettable visit filled with holiday adventure and nostalgia - in the heart of Newport.

In the stable courtyard, immerse yourselves in Summer of Play, with unique play stories for all ages. At the centre, you’ll find a giant sandpit, perfect for digging and building sandcastles together.

Step into colourful beach huts, splash around in the water play or have fun with performance play, where children let their imaginations run wild in make-believe spaces and post a ‘seaside postcard’ at the mini post office, explore a pop-up seaside art gallery, or serve up treats at the ‘icecream stand’.

Soak up the Edwardian holiday atmosphere as you pose for a photo in one of our traditional seaside cut-outs, or lounge on a deckchair for the perfect family snap.

Retreat to the shade of the stretch tent, where you can relax and enjoy a picnic surrounded by the historic buildings - the perfect place to pause and unwind.

Please note, normal admission applies and Summer of Play is located inside our pay barrier. The beach closes at 16:30, but the gardens remain open until 17:00.
