Join us for St David’s Day at Tredegar House Discover the sights, sounds, and stories of Wales with live music, traditional crafts, family trails, and delicious Welsh food, all weekend long.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Join us at Tredegar House for a joyful St David’s Day celebration packed with Welsh culture, creativity, and family-friendly fun across the whole weekend.

Soak up the atmosphere with traditional dancing, beautiful choral singing, and live harp music, and get hands-on with craft activities, including making your own clay love spoon. Throughout the weekend you’ll also encounter a wonderful mix of artists, makers, and storytellers celebrating Wales’ rich heritage, from willow weaving with Sarah Hatton, to lace makers, botanical illustrators, and bilingual storytelling for all ages.

We’re delighted to welcome the Newport Ship and Newport Transporter Bridge teams, sharing stories of Newport’s incredible past. On Saturday, enjoy a very special performance by acclaimed Welsh musician Gwilym Bowen Rhys, playing in the house.

Families can explore even more, with:

* Rhubi’s Celtic Chronicles trail through the gardens * A trail and word game inside the house * Sensory, explorer, and creative kits available to borrow

And don’t forget to refuel in the café, where you’ll find a delicious selection of Welsh cuisine made to warm hearts and bellies alike.

Whether you’re celebrating St David’s Day or simply looking for a brilliant day out, there’s something for everyone, come and celebrate Wales with us.
