Festival of Archaeology at Tudor Merchant's House

From 18 July-1 August come and see archaeological finds from an archaeological dig at the house in 1984 and try your hand at a bit of archaeological discovery of your own!

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

In 1984 an historical cesspit and the ground floor of the house were the subject of a dig. Amazing artifacts of Tudor living were uncovered (some which date back to the 1500s) which we will have on display during our usual opening hours from 18 July-1 August.

There will also be a sandpit for children to discover "finds" and colouring sheets to colour and takeaway as a souvenir of their historical day out.

We're open every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11am-4pm (last entry 3.30pm).
