An Accomplished Woman: The Creative Life of Lady Chatterton Exhibition at Baddesley

This year marks 150 years since the death of Georgiana, Lady Chatterton, who lived at Baddesley Clinton in the 1800s.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

An accomplished author, artist, musician and socialite, she even performed ‘several airs on the harp’ for the future Queen Victoria. From 18 April to 20 November 2026, visitors are invited to explore her creativity and the changing world she lived through in a new exhibition created in partnership with Poet in Residence Beth Calverley. Through words, sound and images—and including a special art exhibition curated by visitors—this celebration highlights Lady Chatterton’s remarkable achievements and her lasting legacy in preserving Baddesley Clinton for future generations.

On Saturday 18 April, come and meet Beth and take part in a new audio piece that will be used in our exhibition. Explore her creativity, her world, and her lasting legacy at Baddesley Clinton.
