A Christmas Carol performance at Coventry Charterhouse

This Christmas, experience Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol like never before, in the atmospheric setting of the Charterhouse. A festive performance for all ages.

  • Booking essential

This Christmas, A Christmas Carol comes to Coventry Charterhouse in a unique and memorable setting.

Dickens’ timeless story explores themes of redemption, compassion, social responsibility, and the importance of family and community. There’s no better time to revisit this classic tale - and this special production offers a fresh way to experience it.

Performed inside the Charterhouse, this adaptation invites audiences to enjoy live theatre in one of the city’s most atmospheric buildings. It is a rare chance to see a well-loved story brought to life in a historic space.

The show has been adapted and is performed by Paul Nolan, an actor, writer and director with more than four decades of experience in theatre. Playing all of the well-known characters, this intimate theatrical experience is sure to delight and enthral its audience.

There is also a strong local connection to the story. In 1857, Sir Joseph Paxton, a landscape gardener, architect, and MP for Coventry, invited his friend Charles Dickens to give a reading of A Christmas Carol at the Coventry Corn Exchange. The event sold out almost immediately.

This production is a heart warming Christmas offering for all ages, full of character and festive spirit.

Running time: approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.
