This tour brings to light stories that are often overlooked, focusing on women whose lives and influence shaped the Charterhouse across centuries. You’ll learn about St Anne, mother of the Virgin Mary, whose story is reflected in the site’s religious heritage, as well as two significant female benefactors with royal connections who helped support the Charterhouse in its early years.
The tour will also explore the lives of the women who later lived at the Charterhouse, offering insight into how the building’s role changed over time and how women continued to shape its story long after the monastic period.
Led by a knowledgeable guide, this tour offers a thoughtful and engaging way to explore the Charterhouse from a fresh perspective, highlighting women’s stories within this historic place.
