Spend February half term exploring, creating and getting closer to nature at the Charterhouse.

Families can enjoy shadow puppet workshops, where children can make their own puppets before joining a playful Puppet Parade in the grounds. There will also be nature-inspired activities led by the Sherbourne Valley Project, including hands-on crafts, sensory activities and guided walks. Drop-in activities run throughout the day, with additional bookable nature walks and sessions available for families who want to explore a little further.

Family fun all year round

Coventry Charterhouse is a green oasis, 25 minutes walk from Coventry's city centre and includes a children's playground, open spaces to explore and a variety of wildlife to spot.

Within the Charterhouse, families can explore through the keyhole trails, spend time being creative, burn off some steam in the playground or relax quietly with a book in the activity room.

Head out into the walled garden to discover what’s growing in the vegetable garden, appreciate the riot of colour in the garden, play games on the lawn or simply relax and appreciate this hidden oasis.

The Heritage Park

The Heritage Park is home to a surprising variety of wildlife for visitors to spot. The river is populated by moorhens, mallards, little egrets, heron, grey wagtails, kingfishers, dragonflies and damselflies. Roaming the landscape are muntjac deer, foxes, badgers, hedgehogs and rabbits. In the air, there are at least three different kinds of bat, as well as swifts, pheasants, buzzards, sparrowhawks, kestrels, pied and grey wagtails, woodpeckers, and many butterfly species.
