Packwood Wins Big at the Growing Support Awards

Last month, a group from Packwood had the pleasure of heading to Heelis for the National Trust Growing Support Awards. We were thrilled to be nominated for the David Musson Bookshop Award, named after one of the pioneers of second-hand bookshops, now the Trust’s biggest on-property fundraising success story! This award celebrates properties that grow their bookshop income year on year. Sundials bookshop raised £30,000 in its first 10 months of being open.

We’re delighted to share that we didn’t just attend the event… we came home as overall winners!

On behalf of the whole Packwood team, I want to say what a fantastic year it’s been in our little bookshop. Sundials celebrated its first full year, and while our space is small, we’ve made every inch count. From remembrance displays to inflatable paddling pools for our “Splashing into Summer Reads,” and transforming the shop into the Jungle Book and Alice in Wonderland – we’ve had so much fun getting creative and tying fundraising into everything we do.

Our seasonal displays have become a talking point, with visitors returning just to see what’s next! That’s all thanks to the hard work and thoughtful donations from our amazing staff and volunteers. A special shout-out to the Sundials bookshop team, we couldn’t do it without you. Here’s to another year of creativity, fundraising, and brilliant books. Thank you all!
