Tai chi and QiGong at Upton House and Gardens

Join Ben Smith and Jon Day from the British Tai Chi Academy to discover the ancient, meditative Chinese art of Tai Chi and QiGong in these weekly classes suitable for beginners and all levels of fitness.

  • Booking advisable

Combining non-impact, gentle movement, meditation, slow breathing and balanced postures, Tai Chi and QiGong is often described as a form of moving meditation.

Health benefits include improved co-ordination, concentration and emotional wellbeing.

Ben and Jon both trained and now instruct with Peter Fletcher at the British Tai Chi Academy. Each week they will guide you step-by-step through the gentle QiGong and Tai Chi movements. Depending on the weather classes will take place in the Quiet Orchard, a dedicated Silent Space, or inside Upton's Squash Court Gallery space.

Please arrive by 12:45pm ready to start promptly at 1pm. Ben and Jon will meet you at Visitor Reception and lead the class to the venue.

Price: £14 per class. Or £48 for 4 x classes (£12 per class). If you wish to purchase this block-ticket option, please email uptonhouse@nationaltrust.org.uk to book your place ahead of your first class and pay on the day at Visitor Reception. Please note, this discounted price is not available if purchasing multiple sessions online.
