'Muses and More' - an exhibition by Vivienne Beaumont

Explore 'Muses and More', an exhibition by figurative textile artist Vivienne Beaumont celebrating the Nine Muses, the rare 18th-century Chelsea porcelain group in Upton's collection.

  • Booking not needed
  • Free event (admission applies)

Vivienne Beaumont is a member of The Society of Designer Craftsmen, The Textile Study Group and PRISM. She has exhibited at various galleries around the country and often works at Spencer House Gallery in Tetbury.

Vivienne's work is always figurative and frequently references the mythological, female archetypes and themes of transformation. 'Muses and More' is her response to Upton's Nine Rococo Muses made in the Chelsea Porcelain Factory circa 1765.

The individual fabric designs, printed onto cotton and reflecting the fragility of the porcelain, feature colours and patterns that are individual to each Muse.

Vivienne's textile Muses express her particular creative journey in conversation with Upton's Muses and their two hundred-year-old Chelsea maker.

'Muses and More opens daily in the Squash Court Gallery from 10:30 – 16:30 and runs from 19 July until 25 August 2025.
