A sculptor who lives in Wiltshire, Sarah Hobley works in different media to explore our historical and ongoing integration with the environment. As 2025 National Trust Avebury artist in residence, she has been exploring the local landscape through short walks and recording her spontaneous response through pots which are painted and sculpted with the sensory impressions of each walk. Revealed is a clear seasonal progression from the sparse browns and high-water levels of winter to the tumultuous birdsong and bright colours of spring and summer. The cycle is completed with the richness of autumn. She described the opportunity to explore and encapsulate the wealth of this landscape as a joy and a privilege. Visit the seventeenth century threshing barn at Avebury to see Sarah's unique pots displayed in an exhibition, and uncover the story of walking through the landscape that each one unveils. Free entry to the exhibition, 10am-5pm. All artworks are for sale, please enquire at the visitor reception kiosk in the barn for more information.
