Join textile artist Lily Purslow at Berrington Hall for a unique embroidery workshop based on the Court Mantua dress.
- Booking essential
Discover the beauty of hand embroidery in this inspiring workshop led by textile artist Lily Purslow.
Inspired by the Court Mantua dress, this creative workshop invites you to embroider your own motif, drawn from the incredible dress which belonged to Ann Harley in the 18th-century, first lady of Berrington Hall.
Guided by expert tuition, you’ll explore decorative embroidery techniques and learn how to build pattern, texture, and detail using carefully selected threads and materials. With a focus on creativity and craftsmanship, you’ll interpret this classic design in your own style, creating a beautiful, heritage-inspired piece to take home.
Perfect for those with some embroidery experience or a confident beginner, the workshop offers a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere to develop your skills while enjoying a unique connection to the widest dress owned by the National Trust.
£85 per person, includes admission to the site, drinks refreshments and all materials. There will be a 1 hour break where you can explore the site and make use of the tearoom facilities if you wish.
Workshop runs from 10:30am - 3:30pm with a 1 hour break.
