Walking Trails at Clent Hills | The Badger Trail
The hardest of our new walks, the Badger Trail takes you around the periphery of Clent and Walton Hills. On this route you’ll pass historic pubs like the Hill Tavern and the Vine, as well as our neighbours High Harcourt Farm. This trail takes 2 hours and 4.3 miles. Please be aware this is an challenging trail; both the footpaths and terrain on this walk can be uneven – and this walk includes very steep inclines and steps.

Start point
Start on the pathway behind the main map board at Nimmings Wood car park.
Step 1
Head up the hill on the path towards the wooden Clent Hills archway.
Step 2
Take the right hand path along the bridleway and follow the way markers along this path with the neighbouring fence line on your right.
Step 3
Follow way markers all the way to NEW POOL then take the left-hand path.
Step 4
Follow way markers up to and over the cross roads down behind the HILL TAVERN pub, around the corner to the Adams Hill information board by the car park
Step 5
Turn left at the board, up the concrete cause way bending around to the right and then round to the left.
Step 6
Take a right and follow the way markers to the DEEP WOOD path heading downhill.
Step 7
Take a left at the wooden gate, follow this path all the way along to the VINE INN.
Step 8
Cross the road and head up the path to your right, up through Nag Hill coming to a T-junction.
Step 9
Turn left here and follow the way markers all the way over the top of WALTON HILL to the car park on Walton Hill Road.
Step 10
Turn left and walk along the road towards the junction with St Kenelm’s Pass. Keep to the right hand side.
Step 11
At HIGH HARCOURT FARM turn left and cross over the road.
Step 12
Head towards a lay-by near the car park and continue through the gate.
Step 13
Follow the way markers to the top of the hill then take a sharp right along the HORSE’S MANE, almost heading back on yourself. Follow the path to a kissing gate.
Step 14
Go through the kissing gate and head downhill with the fence line on your right, continue down the steps to the bottom. These section is very steep and uneven underfoot with tree roots crossing the path.
End point
When you reach the bottom of the steps, turn left and follow the path through the woodland walk back to your starting point.
