Summer of Play: have-a-go sessions
As part of the Summer of Play medieval fair, explore new activities each week with different hands-on projects to try - all included with normal admission. Come back each week to discover something new!

Medieval cookery – 30 and 31 July, 11am–3pm Join Kids Kitchen to dig up vegetables from Croft’s garden and turn it into a healthy, plant-based feast using the produce you've chosen.
Wild play – 4, 5 and 6 August, 10am–12pm Explore nature with Herefordshire Wildlife Trust: bug hunting, wildflower watching, and more hands-on fun.
Weaving – 15 and 16 August, 11am–4pm Create a friendship bracelet with Phi Evans Rush Basketry using natural materials. Learn a traditional, sustainable heritage craft.
Storytelling – 20 August, 11am–12noon and 1.30pm–2.30pm Follow Louby Lou through the gardens on a magical tale of princesses, knights, and dragons.
Archery – 22 and 23 August, 11am–4pm Try ‘have-a-go’ archery with the Archers of Teme. Fun for all ages!
Puppet making and parade – 23 August, 11am–4pm Make watery wildlife puppets with Fetch Theatre, then join the ‘Nature Parade’ led by giant heron and dragonfly puppets.
Pottery – 27 and 28 August, 11am–4pm Get creative with Jon the Flying Potter. Make wild animals and birds to take home or leave at Croft Castle.
Archery – 31 August, 11am–4.15pm More ‘have-a-go’ archery fun with Hereford Bowmen.
