Ukrainian Kupala Festival
Engage with the vibrant and enchanting traditions of the Ivana Kupala midsummer celebration.
- Booking not needed
- Free event
Join us at The Weir Garden, in collaboration with visual arts organisation Salt Road, for a riverside celebration of the Ukrainian Festival of Ivana Kupala. This ancient midsummer tradition explores the deep connection between people and nature through vibrant rituals and folklore.
Meet members of the Ukrainian community, hear their stories, and experience their culture through music, art, and storytelling. Take part in artist-led workshops, enjoy the sounds of the traditional bandura, and wander woodland paths in search of the fern flower. Watch as flower wreaths float down the river, and as evening falls and the fire is lit, allow yourself to connect with nature’s elements of earth, water, air, fire and experience the energy of this ancient midsummer celebration.
This is a free event with free admission entry.
