Come along and see a demonstration of monastic dyeing as part of our jam-packed Summer of Play.
If you're looking for a bit of a quiet away from the summer excitement, pop to Swanley Grange to see a demonstration on dyeing wool using natural items such as tree bark, leaves and flowers.
This demonstration is perfect for curious kids and will be brought to life by our friendly volunteers – we guarantee you'll be surprised by the colourful results!
Drop in any time between 10am and 4pm.

The demonstration takes place in the courtyard at Swanley Grange, which is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the Visitor Centre entrance. It takes place outdoors on a gravel pathway.
- What to bring and wear
Please wear sturdy footwear and be aware that there are some uneven ground and steep slopes on site.
- Accessibility
The demonstration can be accessed via level ground from the Visitor Centre. There is a steep hill to access Swanley Grange if arriving at the West Gate or Studley entrances. There is no seating at the demonstration.
