Visit the five-acre garden rooms of the former home of the Terry family. Discover what's growing in the garden and maybe try your hand at croquet or tennis. Treat yourself to a takeaway on the terrace.

Visit the garden for free on the weekends of the 7 & 8 and 14 & 15 September as part of the Heritage Open Days Festival.

Take time exploring&nbsp;the&nbsp;garden &lsquo;rooms&rsquo; of the former home of the Terry family (think Chocolate Orange). Discover fragrant borders, wildlife areas, vegetable garden and the glasshouse. Soak up the sunshine on the terrace or on a garden bench enjoying the view with your takeaway refreshments.

The Terry factory clock tower can be seen from the paddock orchard overlooking the racecourse linking the chocolate heritage of York and the Terry family from their factory to their home.

Note: The house is also used as regional offices for the National Trust in Yorkshire.
