Free entry for York residents
Opening a day early exclusively for York residents to visit for free as part of the Visit York Residents' Festival.
- Booking not needed
- Free event
Bring your proof of local residency and ID and the garden entrance fee is waivered as part of the Visit York festival...just fashionably late.
We're closed in January when many other attractions are open their doors to their neighbours, so this year, we're going to open ours a day earlier than planned - just for York residents.
York Residents’ Festival is open to all York Residents who have a valid YorkCard, student card or identity card that proves York residency. If presenting an identity card, this must clearly state 'York' (e.g. driving licence or older person's bus pass).
The kiosk will be serving drinks and light snacks and depending on the weather, expect to see the last of the snowdrops and probably daffodils opening as you explore the five acre gardens.
Parking is limited to accessible only, there are bike racks and regular buses, as for the very local, enjoy the walk from your home and come and discover what is behind those wooden gates on Tadcaster Road.
Don't forget your dog is very welcome to join you on your garden visit.
