Learn about the mills, the Luddites and the building of the four reservoirs in the Wessenden valley. We join the second turnpike then cross Wessenden Moor and up the hill, with magnificent views on a clear day.

Follow the routes of the 1st and 2nd Turnpikes, see where the ancient Roman road and packhorse routes traversed the Pennines and learn about the early 18th century woollen industry in the area.
