Explore the beauty of winter and enjoy the festive Christmas season at Wentworth Castle Gardens with a range of events to suit everyone.

Sustainable wreath making 

Saturday 22 & Sunday 23 November, 9.30 - 12.30

Bring some sparkle to your day and create a unique decoration to take home. 

Inspired by and using natural materials from around the gardens, the team will guide you through each stage of making your own Christmas wreath, from selection to inspiration. Using greenery, such as holly and yew, from the gardens will mean that you will be able to take home a little bit of Wentworth, to enjoy over the festive season.

  • £50 per person (includes admission to the gardens and parkland)
  • Booking is essential.
  • This workshop is suitable for those aged 18+

Enchanted Tree Trail

Throughout December and January, anytime between 10am & 4pm

How do your favourite woodland animals survive the winter season? Join our winter trail and peek into the secret, enchanted world of the garden’s best-loved creatures. 

  • Free, normal admission applies

Meet the Deer at Wentworth Castle Gardens

Fridays 5, 12 & 19 and Saturdays 6, 13 & 20 December

8.30 - 10am

Come and meet the Wentworth Castle deer, before the doors open for other visitors, and experience a magical time for all the family. 

Join our farmer Terry to learn about these wonderful creatures and how to look after them. Afterwards, join the elves in the Long Barn Café for a warming festive breakfast.

Woolly Jumper Walk

Throughout December and January, anytime between 10am & 4pm

The parkland changes with the seasons and in winter has a beauty all of its own.

Pick up a map in the Visitor Shed when you arrive on site and follow the ‘Woolly Jumper’ markers through the parkland on this 2.5 mile (4km) walk.

Pull on your wellies, wrap up warmly and head out to enjoy woodland views, admire historic monuments and catch a glimpse of the parkland wildlife.
