Join theatre group the HandleBards for a bicycle-powered production of Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors like you've never seen it before. Set in the grounds of beautiful Stainborough Castle.
When two sets of estranged twins are brought together on the same island, this classic comedy takes hold, with mistaken identity, music and manic costume changes a-plenty.
This is an outdoor production, so please bring a blanket or chair to sit on, a picnic to dig into, and dress for the weather.
The performance will run from 7pm - 9.15pm with a 30 minute interval. Doors open at 6pm, allowing you extra time to explore the gardens out of usual visitor hours.
The distance from the Visitor car park to the Castle is around 1km, up a hill. Please take this into account when planning what to bring with you and leave time to reach the Castle before 7pm. Our Visitor Reception team will be running the Buggy Shuttle service during the evening for those who would appreciate assistance with the trip.
Pedalling from venue to venue with all their set, props and costumes on the back of their bikes, the HandleBards are a four-strong troupe of actors who are spending the summer bringing environmentally sustainable Shakespeare to venues across the UK.
Please note: Tickets are sold via the HandleBards website. Early bird tickets are limited in number.
