This gently-paced 3.5 mile walk will uncover some of the secrets of the Malham Tarn Estate; we'll explore how it was formed, what lives here, what has happened here in years gone by and how the Trust looks after it now. Immerse yourself in the best bits of this amazing landscape and understand it better, while getting fit and meeting new people.

We'll mainly follow gravelly estate tracks and paths, with some boardwalk and grassed sections. the route is fairly level though there are a couple of uphill stretches and a couple of very short steeper sections. We will be going at an easy pace and we'll stop frequently to find out about things of interest and rest. There will be an opportunity to use the toilet, though please note there are no toilet facilities at the start of the walk. there will be a lunch stop (please bring a packed lunch).

Meet at the Quarry car park at 10.15am for a 10.30am walk start. Please note that there is limited phone signal in the area so download all the information before you set off.

This is the first in a new programme of group walks here in the Dales so if you can't make this one, please do check back for more. If you need a more accessible walk, or have a suggestion about a walk we could organise, please email yorkshiredales@nationaltrust.org.uk and let us know.
