We've joined with The Pokémon Company International in a new partnership that will bring fun and discovery to the places we care for. Together, we'll create playful, welcoming experiences for 2026 that encourage outdoor exploration and spark curiosity.

Helping us engage with young people

Pokémon was launched in Japan in 1996 and today is one of the most popular entertainment franchises in the world.

Our partnership with Pokémon offers a powerful opportunity to connect with families and younger audiences in fresh ways. United by a shared mission to promote play, the collaboration delivers fun, outdoor experiences for children and families across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

What are the Pokémon activities like?

The Pokémon experiences available this year encourage exploration and interaction. We’ve planned trails at 15 National Trust spaces that celebrate the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) – Mega Evolution Series that will take place across the country, starting in May half term and running through the summer.

These trails highlight 10 Mega Evolution Pokémon from the Pokémon TCG. In the Pokémon TCG, Mega Evolution Pokémon are powerful Pokémon with bigger Health Points (HP) and attacks. Children and families can explore these epic Mega Evolution Pokémon through various challenges.

Our Summer of Play programme for 2026 will also feature activities based on the Pokémon TCG, in addition to all the usual fun and games. Visitors can find Pokémon Challenge Zones at 27 different locations. There will also be Pokémon sticker activity books available at every Summer of Play place.

Why this partnership matters

One of our key ambitions is to inspire people who may not have previously considered visiting a National Trust place to give us a try. By partnering with one of the world’s most beloved entertainment brands, we can connect with new audiences and create shared experiences that families can enjoy together.

At Pokémon, we believe in the power of play to bring people together. For 30 years, Pokémon has inspired Trainers of all ages to explore, discover, and connect with one another. We’re proud to be working with the National Trust this year, creating new opportunities for families and children to get outdoors, spark their curiosity and share those moments of adventure together.
