Situated at the back of the Mill Room, our cafe is a great place to enjoy a hot or cold drinks, delicious lunch or a light bite. Everything on our seasonal menus are all freshly made to order right here in our kitchen.

The Garden at Winchester City Mill

Enjoy your purchase from our cafe in our secret Island Garden. Tucked away at the back of the Mill, our garden offers an oasis of calm amongst the hustle and bustle of the watermill and the city. Sit back and listen to the sights and sounds of the River Itchen and take a moment to observe the local wildlife - you might even be lucky enough to spot one of our elusive otters!

Made locally in Hampshire, and Britain's first carbon negative ice cream company, Jude's ice cream is the perfect summertime treat to enjoy during your visit to the Mill as you soak up the sights and sounds of the River Itchen.

Sustainability in our cafe

At Winchester City Mill we are working towards a more sustainable future. We use compostable packaging which is plastic free, produced ethically using less virgin material and creating less Co2. When you order a hot drink and bring your reusable cup, we'll give you 25p off as a thank you for helping the environment. (This replaces the hot drinks loyalty card scheme, which closed in February 2021.) All profits from our cafe go towards funding essential conservation work - so every time you eat or shop here at Winchester City Mill, you're helping us look after this special place.
