Supporter Groups

Joining a local group can give you so much more...

Meeting like-minded people and enjoying a variety of social activities are just a couple of reasons why people join supporter groups.

At Aberdulais, we have the 'Friends of Aberdulais Tinworks' - a group of enthusiasts who are passionate about the conservation and history of Aberdulais.

The majority of the Friends volunteer with us, giving up their time and lending their expertise in areas like the tea-room, archives, maintenance and archaeology.

A little bit of history...

The Friends have been an integral part of Aberdulais since 1987, and have been actively fundraising ever since. To date, they've raised well over £200,000 towards various projects on site.

These include enhancements to visitor facilites, new furniture for the volunteer workroom and tea-room, plus a secure shed for equipment.

The project to provide access to all parts of the property for visitors with special needs, including the installation of lifts and the provision of wheelchairs, was one of the most significant and rewarding.

Funds have been used to repair and renovate facilities, improve interpretation and most recently have been used in one of our conservation projects -  the Tinning House.
