Get set for a totally batty adventure this October half term. Hidden around our meadow are signs showing the nine species of bat that call Ashridge home as well as a few fun facts. It is your job to spot and identify them all. Mon 26 Oct – Fri 30 Oct, 10am - 4pm.

A totally batty adventure!

Get set for a totally batty adventure this October half-term. Set out to walk around Meadly's Meadow and try to find the signs naming the nine species of bat that call Ashridge home. Look high and low as you try to spot them and note down their names.

Plan your visit

There is no charge for this batty adventure, which starts just outside the visitor's centre.

As you walk round look out for signs of wildlife in the hedgerows; look for the different berries they will eat. Look at the lovely coloured leaves overhead too and see how many different ones there are.

When you have completed your walk, you can browse our shop for gifts, books, drinks or snacks - we already have some Christmas cards if you want to be ahead. Pick up a hot drink or meal from the Brownlow Café.

We have baby-changing and disabled facilities if you need them.

The trail is on a flat, surfaced path, which is suitable for pushchairs and you are welcome to bring your dog along on a lead.
