Bees on a hive producing local honey at Ashridge, Herts & Bucks

Berkhamsted Bees

Situated just outside Berkhamsted, the bees that provide the locally-produced honey that we stock in the Ashridge shop forage both gardens and countryside, creating a honey that reflects a broad spectrum of local pollens and flavours.

Wood to be handturned into bowls at Ashridge, Herts & Bucks

Hertswood is Jonah Maddox, some sharp tools, some cut hands, and a small shed in Berkhamsted. The results, which can be found on the shop shelves, are exquisite wooden hand-carved bowls and spoons. All the timber for these pieces is sourced from the Ashridge timber yard.

Bluebells at Ashridge, Herts & Bucks

Home County Candle Co.

Made using luxury fragrance oils, the scents of these natural soy wax candles and reed diffusers are inspired by the smells of the woodlands and flowers found around the county. The Hertfordshire scent which we stock is inspired by the abundance of beautiful bluebells on the Ashridge Estate.

The Bookshop

Reopening on Monday 12 April 2021

Our second-hand bookshop boasts a great selection of pre-loved books, kindly donated by visitors, and expertly organised by our volunteers. Browse the well-stocked shelves in the visitor centre, and pick up the next book you can’t wait to curl up with.

We’re always on the lookout for new donations, so if you have any good quality fiction and non-fiction books that you’d like to donate, please drop them in when we’re open.  The money raised from the sales of these donated books helps look after Ashridge by funding essential conservation work.
