Making the most of spring
If your little ones are not already exhausted from egg hunting and puddle jumping the beautiful Ashridge woodland then we have a range of outdoor toys, quirky pocket money ideas, wooden toys, fun family games and gorgeous plush animals all looking for a new home.
Most of our visitors enjoy a walk in the beautiful countryside here at Ashridge and with April showers being unpredictable at this time of year our shop has you sorted whatever the weather throws at you, with our outdoor range of hiking equipment, camping essentials, rugs, rucksacks, torches, sporks and more.
We love to support local businesses whenever we can here at Ashridge, and we have some exciting new local products this season.
We’re pleased to stock new books by two local Authors; The Bluebell Wood by Kelly Wright is a beautiful illustrated childrens story about a little girl’s adventures among the Ashridge Bluebells. The Butterfly Collection by Ashridge volunteer, butterfly expect and talented poet Richard Harrington contains a poem for every British butterfly. Many of which were inspired by his encounters on the Ashridge Estate.
We are also excited to be stocking hand-carved bowls, spoon and vases made by Jonah Maddox of Hertswood a local Berkhamsted maker. All the timber for these exquisite pieces is sourced from Ashridge, either at the timber yard or from the woodland floor. His work makes the perfect present and each beautiful handcrafted piece comes complete with an information card detailing the history of the tree from which it was made.
