Baddesley Clinton estate walk
Enjoy a gentle stroll around the estate of Baddesley Clinton, a secluded, intimate estate which was home to the Ferrers family for 500 years. Part of the estate walk is currently closed for conservation work. At point 8 please follow the edge of the field to point 12 on the map.

From the top car park go through the gate and head across the field corner to the next gate.

Walk across this large field, with views to Hay Wood ahead and Baddesley Clinton Church on the right.

At the gate in the corner, turn right and go down the gravel track towards the church, turning left through a gate into a field.
St Michael's Church
The earliest record of a church here is dated 1305, but it is believed there was a church on or near this site two ,or possibly three centuries earlier.

Follow the National Trust way markers towards the gate in the left hand corner of the field.
Church Field
The ridge and furrow earthworks of the adjacent field are all that survive of the open field system of the medieval village of Baddesley Clinton. Little is known of its fate, but like many others it may have succumbed to failed harvests, poor weather and the Black Death which peaked towards the end of the 1300s.

Go straight ahead, keeping the edge of the field on your left, cross over a small bridge to the next gate.

Take the right hand gate and follow the mown path on the left hand side of the field.

Turn left, go through the farm gate and follow the path with the edge of the field on you left until you reach a gate.

Go through into the next field and follow the mowed path straight down the centre until you reach a gate.

Go through the gate and take the right hand fork and follow the National Trust way markers until you reach the gate.

Turn left after the gate, keeping the edge of the field on your left. Follow this path to find Baddesley’s bird screen, where you’ll be able to spot a variety of wildlife.

When you’re ready turn right out of the bird screen, back to the gate at point 10 and follow the mown path across the field towards the farm gate.

Go through the gate and follow the path across the field and back onto the driveway leading into Baddesley.

Turn right when you reach the driveway and follow it back to Baddesley’s car park and Visitor Reception.
