Parking and arrival

A pay and display car park (not National Trust) is available in Hawkshead village 300 yards from Beatrix Pottery Gallery.

The Beatrix Potter Gallery is now open for 2022. The downstairs rooms provide an introduction to Beatrix Potter and her life, legacy and 'little books.' Upstairs is an annual exhibition of Beatrix's original watercolour illustrations. This years exhibition theme is The Language of Flowers. The artwork you see on display today might not be shown again in the next decade to protect it for future generations to enjoy.

The exhibition is housed in an old property entered from street, step to narrow entrance. Level access to three rooms on ground floor. Many stairs with handrail to other floors. Assistance dogs only. To protect the artwork the light levels in the gallery are low.
