Peppercombe Valley circular walk
This scenic one-mile circular route starts and finishes at Peppercombe Bothy, taking in quiet country tracks, a wooded valley and memorable views of the North Devon coastline.
Starting at Horns Cross
If you'd prefer to start the walk at the top of the valley, at Horns Cross, start on step 5 and follow the route anti-clockwise.

Start point

Step 1
From the bothy turn right, then immediately left, signed Coastguard/Coombe Cottages, Northway.
Step 2
Follow the path up past the holiday cottages, through the gate and past the house.
Step 3
Continue following the track up the valley.
Step 4
Upon reaching a sign with Malcolm's path to the left: for the shorter route turn left here and follow Malcolm's path to the other side of the valley. For the longer route continue up the track to the top. (Shorter route: jump to step 6).
Step 5
At the top, turn left, signed 'Public Footpath', through the gate signed 'Peppercombe' and follow the track down the valley.
Step 6
Continue on down the valley, passing over the bridge and past the cottage. You'll find the bothy approximately 80 metres down on your right.
