Bringing a group to Coleridge Cottage
Coleridge Cottage has hosted many group visits over the years, including U3As, walking groups, and groups from overseas. Due to the size of Coleridge Cottage, we ask that all groups of more than 10 give us advance notice so we can ensure your visit goes smoothly. Please see below for everything you need to know.
Help us help you
To request a group booking form, please contact the Cottage by email, or on 01278 732662. We will ask for the following information from you:
Your desired time of arrival and approximately how long you intend to stay. Wednesday mornings are our usual group visit times, with a suggested arrival time of 10am. If you wish to have a guided tour, this will take approximately an hour.
The size of your group (please note that, due to size constraints, we are unable to accept groups of over 30 people).
Guided tour or self-led?
Your group has the option of having a private guided tour of the Cottage with one of our knowledgeable volunteers, or exploring the Cottage at your own pace. The tour lasts approximately an hour, and groups larger than 10 will need to be split into smaller groups for their tour.
There is no extra charge for a group visit or a tour. If your group size is 15 people or over, your tickets will be £6.20 per adult. National Trust members come in for free.
If you wish to use the Garden Room, please request a booking form when making contact with the Cottage. Tables and chairs are available, and the cost is £40 for a full day, and £20 for half a day.
Payment for tickets can be made on the day by cash, cheque, or card. Garden Room payments must be made in advance by cash, card, or cheque.
Two unisex toilets are available onsite. There is a small National Trust shop, and small tearoom with seating capacity of 22. If you wish to use the tearoom on your visit, please contact the Cottage.
Parking for cars and minibuses is available in the Ancient Mariner car park, opposite the Cottage. Coaches with under 30 seats will need to drop off and pick up outside Coleridge Cottage, and over 30 seats will need to drop off and pick up at Banneson Road at the bottom of the village (a 5 minute walk from the Cottage). A representative from the learning team will meet you and lead you up to the Cottage.
Due to narrow corridors and steep steps, the Cottage is unsuitable for wheelchairs. Guide dogs are welcome in the Cottage. Please see our full access statement for more details.
