High winds in the Essex countryside

As we come to the winter months, we often see more high winds and storms. At these times we ask our visitors, staff and volunteers to be aware and take more care, for your own safety.

If you are on one of our sites during or just after very windy weather, please stay clear of woodlands, as there is a greater risk of falling branches and possibly even the odd tree.

The Ranger Team will be out checking the countryside to make sure it is safe and clearing up debris where we can, so that we can keep our paths open for your enjoyment.

If you do find a tree down or a dangerous branch over or near a path or road please report it to our Ranger team so that we can assess the issue and take action.
