Dive bombing

Crowd of guillemots on cliffs, small chick can be seen under parent

The Arctic Terns are back on form, dive-bombing us as we make our way in and out of the courtyard on Inner Farne.

It’s reassuring to see them behaving like normal. Soon after landing we noticed an Eider Duck sitting next to the path and a duckling poking out from its mother’s feathers. Many of the Kittiwakes have eggs now and are sitting diligently, the sunny weather makes it easier to monitor them. The most exciting news today is that we have our first Guillemot jumplings, time has flown by and soon enough they will be jumping off the cliffs.
