Our very best produce
Each year, entries are invited from all the special places that we care for and our 1,500 tenant farmers.
Winning products have to reach a very high standard. All entrants are required to pass a checklist of environmental standards and to guarantee the quality and origin of ingredients alongside their production methods before the judging process even begins.
This year’s judging panel awarded 45 products from 25 producers the right to use the coveted Fine Farm Produce Award logo for the next 12 months.
Taste and sustainability
‘We know that any product reaching the tasting panel judging stage has already met high production standards,’ says Richard McGeown, judge and chef patron of Couch’s Great House Restaurant in Cornwall.
‘Our role is to rigorously assess the presentation, cooking and taste of each product. Many of the products that pass the taste test are, in my opinion, some of the very best you can find in the country.
‘There is great satisfaction in knowing that the award winners care so much about producing fantastic food and drink in a sustainable way for the rest of us to enjoy.’
