Pitch your tent at Great Langdale

The majority of the pitches at the Great Langdale campsite are for tents, all offering truly breathtaking views down the valley and of Langdale Pikes. The 120 pitches are spread informally throughout the meadows and are just a short walk from the shower and toilet facilities. Cars are in parking areas across the campsite.

There are hiking trails from the campsite so it is possible to explore without your car and excellent climbing, even in winter.

We operate a flexible pitching system which means that, instead of being allocated a specific pitch when you book, you will be able to choose a pitch on arrival. This has proved popular allowing more choice and better quality pitches whilst helping us to protect the land. As always, we're happy to hear your feedback on this.

Arriving by bus, bike or boot?

We want to encourage sustainable travel to our campsites, so if you arrive by sustainable means and won't need a parking space, you can take advantage of our car-free discount of £5 per pitch per night - just ask when you arrive on site and this will be deducted from the total cost of your stay. The discount applies to anyone who has booked and paid the normal full pitch price (not group rates).

Advance bookings only

There is a 3 night minimum stay on Bank Holidays and a 2 night minimum stay for all advanced bookings.

Maximum occupancy

One of the things our campers love about Great Langdale is the sense of relaxation and tranquility. So to this end, the maximum number of adults allowed in any party is four. This applies whether you book together or separately.

Tent prices

Please enter your requirements in the 'Enquire and book' box on the main campsite page - link below. Pitch prices are shown per night and include 1 tent, 1 adult and 1 vehicle and are based on tent sizes:

• Small - Maximum 3m x 3m, up to 3 people
• Medium - Maximum 6m x 5m, up to 5 people (max 4 adults)
• Large - Maximum 8m x 8m, up to 8 people (max 4 adults

If you would like to have a gazebo, mess tent or pup tent alongside your tent, please mention it in the ‘specific requirements’ section when making your booking online. Staff will accommodate your wishes or call you if needed and the balance can be paid on arrival.
