Gupton Farm campsite FAQs

Where is the nearest food shop?

Pembroke has larger food shops, about 6.5miles from the campsite.

Where is the nearest pub/restaurant?

From April to September, a beach shack located in the beach car park serves street food. There are several pubs, restaurants and cafes along the coast in Angle, Milford Haven and Pembroke.

Where is the nearest bank and cash point?

The closest banks are in Pembroke.

Do you take bookings?

Bookings are recommended to ensure you get a pitch. Bookings can be made online via our reservation system or call 01646 661640 or email guptonfarm@nationaltrust.org.uk.

Do you accept dogs?

Gupton Farm is a dog-friendly campsite and all well-behaved dogs are welcome at no additional charge. They must be kept on a lead at all times and exercised away from other campers. Please pick up after your dogs right away.

Please note that restrictions are in place on the permissive paths to minimise disturbance to the wildlife. Dogs are also welcome on Freshwater West beach and bridleway.

Can I park my car by my tent?

Parking is not allowed on the camping field; however the free car park is close by. There are wheel barrows available to assist your loading and unloading.

Do you hire freeze packs?

Yes, in the barn.

Where are some good walks for families?

The farm is located close to the coast path and there are plenty of local walks.

Where is the nearest town or village?

The closest village to the farm is Castlemartin but it has no amenities, for further amenities head to the town of Pembroke.

Do you accept trailer tents/caravans/campervans?

Due to the limited number of pitches and the size of the access route we can only allow campervans on site.

Do you have laundry facilities?

No.

What places are there to visit nearby?

Exploring Freshwater West is a must, but Pembrokeshire has lots of other National Trust places to discover too. A 15-minute drive away you’ll find the Stackpole Estate with beautiful walks, beaches and watersports to enjoy. The historic Tudor Merchant’s House is in nearby Tenby (35-minute drive), colourful Colby Woodland Garden in Amroth (30-minute drive) and charming Southwood Estate above Newgale (50-minute drive). Pick up our leaflets from reception and the interpretation room for more ideas on things to see and do.

Do you take credit card payments?

Yes we accept most credit and debit cards. Credit cards incur a 1.5% surcharge.

Are you open all year round?

The campsite is open from 7th April until 1st October.

Can I have a fire or barbecue?

Due to the natural surroundings of the site we can only permit barbecues and campfires in our designated area.

Can under 18s stay at the site?

Under 18s must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Bookings can only be taken from those over the age of 18.

What else do I need to know?

We share this remote and rugged peninsula with the Ministry of Defence; our neighbours use the Castlemartin Range as a military training area. Live firing can be heard from the campsite, so please don’t be alarmed. You can view the firing schedule on the MoD website.

What facilities are at Freshwater West beach?

There’s a free car park at the beach and on-site toilets for visitors, as well as a seasonal beach shack serving street good and surf school.
