How to have a greener Christmas

Visitors making orange pomander decorations at a Christmas event

Christmas doesn’t have to be a burden on the planet. With a little imagination you can have all the festive cheer without the carbon footprint.

This year, why not focus more on places and people? From making your own decorations and recycling your tree, to inviting an older neighbour over for a mince pie, you could make a real difference to your local environment and community with just a few simple changes.

Here are our tips for having a greener festive season.

Use less, recycle more

Give something back

" Giving is part of the Christmas spirit. With your generous donations to our foodbank drop-off, we can make sure emergency food and support is available to those who need it most. "
- Shane Lloyd, Visitor Welcome Manager at Erddig, Wrexham
