We like everyone who stays at our campsite to have an enjoyable time, so we politely ask that you observe a few simple campsite rules.
Our reception and shop is open every day although times vary during the low season. In the absence of a member of staff, new pre-booked arrivals will receive a welcome envelope containing site information.
Pre-booked pods, tents and campervans
A welcome envelope will be available for you to pick up outside of shop / reception - arrival time is anytime after 12 noon. If you arrive late, please consider others when setting up.
Please be aware that the access barrier card issued in the pack ceases to operate after 11pm.
Non-booked tents and campervans
If space allows, you may pitch up after 12 noon and call in at reception during opening hours (maximum group size is 4). Please do not pitch if the 'FULL' sign is displayed.
Due to the limited number of hard standing spaces on the campsite, non-booked campervanners are recommended to call ahead to check availability.
Please leave by 11am on your day of departure. If you wish to stay an extra night, please inform reception before 10am (reception is open from 8am every day).
There is a minimum two night stay at weekends and for all advanced bookings. A three night minimum stay applies at Bank Holidays.
To protect the natural beauty of the site, parking is available in designated areas away from tent pitches, but near enough so it’s not too difficult to carry your camping gear from your car.
Dogs / pets
Dogs are welcome on site (maximum of two per party), but please notify us at the time of booking. Keep them on a lead at all times and please clean up after your dog, promptly. A charge will be incurred for each dog.
Dogs are not allowed inside pods or safari tents except for assistance dogs.
We ask that our visitors are considerate to their neighbours at all times, but ‘quiet please’ between 11pm and 7am.
Please leave at least six metres between tents.
The size of a party (except for organised groups) is restricted to a maximum of four adults and four children. We cannot accommodate large groups of friends and families.
Occupation of pods is limited to two adults plus one child for a standard pod and two adults plus three children for a family pod unless otherwise agreed.
Tipis can accommodate three adults or two adults and two children.
Organised groups such as scouts, Duke of Edinburgh award groups and similar can be accommodated at certain times of year. Proof of group status will be required when booking.
All group leaders must complete a group booking form including full details of the number in their party and the number of tents and vehicles.
All group bookings must be made via the booking office and cannot be made online. Call our Bookings Team, Monday to Friday 10am - 4pm, on 01539 432733 or email your requirements to email@example.com. Please note that your group's booker must be at least 18 years of age.
For obvious reasons, campfires are not allowed, but barbecues are permitted, provided they are raised off the ground. Ask the campsite team for stones if necessary.
Cooking inside tents or pods is NOT permitted and can be lethal due to carbon monoxide poisoning.
Bring a torch - it's very dark here due to the rural location with no lighting, so a torch is essential outside the summer months.
Smoking is not allowed in or around the pods or tipis.
Special requests, including requests for adjacent camping pitches, must be indicated to us at the time of booking. We will always do our best to honour them but they cannot be guaranteed.
Complaints and feedback
Every reasonable care will be taken to ensure that the camping pitch or pod and site amenities are presented to a high standard. Should you find any cause for complaint, please immediately contact one of the campsite staff, so that reasonable steps can then be taken to rectify the problem. The National Trust will not normally make any refunds in respect of complaints made after the Visitor’s departure from the campsite if the Visitor did not make the problem or complaint known to staff during the Visitor’s stay.
Visitors who provide an email address at the time of booking will receive a survey after their stay asking for feedback. Alternatively, a comment form may be completed and left at campsite reception.

Sadly there are no reductions for members at our sites due to charity commission rules. However, please be assured that the money raised through the campsite will be put to good use supporting our conservation work locally.
