Blooming wisteria at Greys Court
The wisteria growing in the walled garden at Greys Court is a wonderful sight at any time of year, and it is a spectacular sight in bloom in the late spring. The wisteria room in the walled garden becomes completely covered in blue flowers and green leaves, and its a wonder to walk through the gnarled branches of the plant.
The sight and scent of the wisteria is a big draw for so many visitors to Greys Court, everyone hoping to see it at its best. We expect the wisteria will flower at some point throughout May. Although it’s hard to say when exactly, for more accurate updates, keep an eye on social media, where we will be posting regular updates.
Wisteria on a weekday
The ‘wisteria room’ in the walled garden becomes very busy during the wisteria’s bloom, especially on the weekends. It is during these times that the wisteria room becomes very crowded. Please make sure not to touch to wisteria, but instead take in the beauty of the wisteria as you walk through the room. It is quite a small space to navigate, so please be aware of where you are walking to help protect and preserve this incredible plant.
Wisteria evenings in the garden
This year we are hosting wisteria evenings in the garden, to give you the opportunity to visit the wisteria away from the crowds. The wisteria has a beautiful scent in the evenings, much like honeysuckle, and it is set to be a lovely evening, as we will be serving canapes and drinks. Tickets will be £20 each, and follow our social media pages to stay updated when we release dates when the wisteria first starts to bloom.
