Step inside our new Book Nook at Greys Court

We’re excited to announce that we have a new second hand bookshop at Greys Court. Pop in and have a browse in our ‘Book Nook’ and pick up a bargain.

Discover our new second hand bookshop next to the Donkey wheel, which is past the house and on the way to the shop and tea-room. The Book Nook is open every day from 10am - 4.30pm, so you have plenty of time to pop in and have a browse.

The Book Nook has children's books, adult fiction and non-fiction, and is a cosy place to relax with a good read. In the future we hope to link the Book Nook to events and school holidays, with storytelling sessions and themed books. Every penny raised from the Book Nook will be spent on projects at Greys Court, to protect its future for everyone.

A group of our wonderful volunteers have been hard at work making the Book Nook come to life. Sue Neale has been managing the Book Nook volunteering team, and is supported by Robbie Foster, Belinda Clarke and Adele O’Connor with the sorting of the books. Volunteer handyman Mark Harris has also been busy building the book shelves with our volunteer Tim Heming.

Sue, who has a background in publishing and volunteers with us in archival and admin work, has been busy selecting and organising hundreds of books.  Sue has also volunteered at Sue Ryder for 5 years, where she has been able to source some of them.

If you have any unwanted books you would like to donate, please ring the estate office on 01491 628529, or speak to a member of staff on your next visit.

We hope to see you at the Book Nook soon!
