Our Winter Work
Winter is the time when we're able to give our house and the 15,000 objects within a good thorough clean and check to see how they're doing.
We’re now closed for our winter season, from November 1st 2015 to March 15th 2016.
During our closed season we undertake vital conservation work we're unable to do during our open months. We’ve recently recruited a further 20 enthusiastic volunteers to help us with various tasks.
This winter, our wonderful conservation volunteers will help us 'put the house to bed' by covering furniture in dust sheets and small objects in 'paper hats' to protect them against further dust.
They will help us give the whole house a deep clean, inventory check all our items, continue to photograph them for our online database and help to dismantle our 'A Photographer's War' exhibition and create a fantastic new one, ready for 2016.
