Helpful information for teachers about learning at Hardy's Cottage including costs, facilities and preparing for your visit.

Costs

  •  Education Group Membership (EGM) covers admission charges to hundreds of National Trust places for your whole school
  • If you do not wish to purchase EGM, normal group admission charges of £2.50 per child apply (included in session prices). To find out more go to our main web site
  • A £60 minimum charge for a full day session and a £40 minimum charge for a two-hour session applies

Pupil to adult ratios
The ratio of adults to pupils for a KS2 session is 1:8. You are welcome to bring more adults, but normal admission fees will apply. The ratio does not include 1-1 suport.

Facilities
There is car parking, a small National Trust shop, café and toilet facilities at Hardy’s Birthplace visitor centre.

Self-led visits
Teachers are welcome to design their own programme of study at this site. All self-led visits are free, but normal admission or Education Group Membership charges apply. Self-led visits must be booked in advance.

Risk Assessment
All National Trust sites are fully risk assessed. You will receive further information to carry out your own risk assessment when you make a booking.
