This talk looks at some of the 150 or so poems Hardy wrote about his first wife, Emma, after her death in 1912. It begins by asking, who are these poems for? And goes on to explore themes of speech and silence, memory and loss, and love and blame.
This December, Hardy’s Cottage will be decked with natural decorations of evergreen collected from the cottage garden and surrounding woodlands. Come and warm your toes by the warmth of the fire and get into the festive spirit.
