Tanner Brow

Only 100 metres from Lake Windermere, this two-bedroom apartment occupies the first floor of a traditional stone Lake District cottage. From the cottage you'll find walking trails in every direction. Head north for a 4-mile trek to Wray Castle or walk to Claife Viewing Station where you'll be rewarded with panoramic views across Windermere. Sleeps 4.

Holeslack Farmhouse

Built in the 16th century, Holeslack is a Grade II listed building with original features that make a stay here extra special. The cottage's 16th-century spiral staircase, open brick fireplace and oak wood furniture reflect its farmhouse past, while contemporary fittings have been added for a comfortable stay. The four-bedroom cottage has views of medieval Sizergh Castle and the surrounding countryside. Sleeps 8.

The Summer House

Tucked away in the old kitchen garden of Wray Castle, a short drive from Ambleside, this pretty cottage is the perfect Lake District hideaway. Inside, the cottage has elegant, wood-panelled walls, plump sofas and big picture windows. But the real wow factor of this cottage is the stunning view of Lake Windermere, Langdale Pikes and the central fells. Sleeps 4.

Low Strawberry Gardens

Adjacent to High Strawberry, this Cumbrian holiday cottage sits on the water's edge of Lake Windermere. With England's largest lake quite literally on your doorstep and use of a jetty to moor a boat or fish from, this self-catering cottage is a great base for watersports enthusiasts. You could bring your own kayak and set out on the water or explore the many walking trails nearby. Sleeps 5.

High Strawberry Gardens

Once flourishing with freshly grown strawberries in its walled garden, this early 19th-century cottage is on the west shore of Lake Windermere. It's an idyllic setting with the lake at your feet, sailing boats bobbing by your window and the towering mountains beyond. With an easy, level path running along the lake, it's the perfect place for a gentle stroll or bike road. Sleeps 4.

Group getaways at the Strawberry Gardens Cottages

Strawberry Garden Cottages sit within metres of the west shore of Windermere, complete with their own jetty. With an interconnecting door between the two cottages, they are perfect for a group holiday where guests can also enjoy their own space.

Watergate Farm

Stay close to the shores of Loweswater in this traditional Lake District farmhouse. It's full of charm inside with spacious rooms, a farmhouse kitchen and period features. Encompassed by woodland and open farmland with views across the valley, there is a four-mile walk around the the lake which finishes near Kirkstile Inn, a cosy country pub. For a more challenging trail, hike to the top of Melbreak for views of Buttermere Valley. Sleeps 6.

Millbeck Towers

A former 18th-century mill, Millbeck Towers is ideal for special get-togethers with family and friends. Inside the turret-adorned property is an atmospheric space with high ceilings and historic details. An intricate stained glass window, open fireplaces and chequered tiled floors are just some of the features of this large six-bedroom mansion in Keswick. For those that enjoy the outdoors there is direct access to Skiddaw Range, the highest fells in the North Lakes. Sleeps 12.

Rose Castle Cottage

One of the highlights of a stay at Rose Castle Cottage is the views from the track on the approach to the cottage. The romantic 19th-century cottage is situated high above Tarn Hows in a truly tranquil location with no neighbours on the horizon.
