About Bowderdale
This traditional farmhouse near Wastwater looks out at Lake District landscapes.Very few places enjoy views like Bowderdale does; it sits in an elevated position overlooking mountains and the cascading screes that tumble down to Wastwater. The farmhouse sits on a remote fellside farm in the heart of the Lake District in Wasdale. Inside still feels very much like a traditional farmhouse with classic furnishings, checked tile floors and a log-burner in the living room.
You couldn’t be in a better location for exploring some of the Lake District’s highlights. Straight from your doorstep, walks will lead you around England’s deepest lake, Wastwater. For those seeking a mountain adventure nearby, the options are almost endless, from short walks up Middle Fell to challenging climbs up Scafell Pike, its base is just a 10-minute drive making it ideal for active families or groups of friends. There are also more leisurely walks along the lake shore and nearby River Irt which also offers opportunities for salmon and trout fishing.
For a change of scenery the Cumbrian coast and shingle beach at Ravenglass are within easy reach. Muncaster Castle and The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway are a short drive away.
