About Chatham

Part of a large country house on the Helford, brimming with Arts and Crafts elegance.

Chatham is situated in the west wing of Bosloe House, the oldest part of the building, built in 1903. Its elegant Arts and Crafts style interiors are complimented by windows views across  rolling lawns and the Helford River. The ground floor has been remodelled to make it fully accessible for visitors in wheelchairs.

Rise early and after breakfast, make the short one mile walk to the beautiful Glenduragn Garden, a large exotic garden, with lots of fascinating nooks and crannies to explore. Sunny, south-facing beach, Durgan, is just a few minutes’ from the house.

Further afield, head to Falmouth, just 10 miles away from the cottage. This pretty port town has a number of local attractions including Pendennis Castle, Trebah and Falmouth Art Gallery.

About the Acorn rating

We have applied a 1-5 acorn rating to each cottage to be used only as a guide that covers location, style of interior and facilities you may be looking for. The range runs from 1 Acorn at a more basic level such as Bird How which due to its stunning yet remote location doesn’t have a caretaker through to 5 Acorns at the highest level – such as Shute Barton.

Cottage pricing is not judged on the Acorn rating alone and as all our cottages are of an individual nature we recommend that all factors are considered when making your choice.
